Two Days at Lake Galena

I returned to Lake Galena with my new Tsunami kayak
on Friday, August 24. Unlike my previous visit,
it was a dull, gray day; though the temperature was warm.

The red line in this map shows my general course in two
separate paddles around the lake.

Here are two views of the kayak in its car-top carrier.
I can add a second rack and carry both boats.

Just as I was getting ready to launch, this heron flew into
my camera viewfinder.

Is it the same bird I photographed at this end of
the lake on the 11th? Probably.

Here I am on the water. Although the camera seems fogged,
it was not raining.

A light breeze was blowing up the lake, consistently through
the day. Yet, it felt much harder to paddle with the wind
and much easier when I was paddling into the wind.

A few other people were out having fun, despite the weather.

It actually was a great day for sailing!

Not too bad for fishing with the family, either.
