Back in August, there are pictures of Steve Smith and I in this quarry, surrounded by lily pads. All that vegetation is gone, but there was something weird and wonderful here this November afternoon.
As I entered the quarry, I saw a strange patrolling motion and then a loud "SLAP!" At first I didn't know what it was. An oversized carp maybe?
